Africa, always together

One of us, Eulália, lived for many years in Mozambique and brought from there a Macua daughter. The other, Fernando, was an ambassador of good will to South Africa by Rotary Foundation; and visited recently Tanzania, where he met teachers and students from Arusha region. We are both Portuguese teachers and we want to promote an educational and multicultural project, on the behalf of reciprocity and cooperative values. Join us! AIDS2008 AND MOZAMBIQUE

Portuguese national TV presented this morning some figures about AIDS in Mozambique:
- 500 new infected people everyday;
- 1 in 6 people is seropositive;
- 90.000 people die every year with AIDS;
- Aids is still spreading all over the country.

In our opinion, a very hard effort in familiar and community education (social and health education) must be done. Schools and homes take a very central place in this kind of work.
